Teachers & staff
Our teachers are native Spanish speakers and professionals from different parts of Colombia, who are committed to giving students the richest possible experience of Colombian culture and customs. They have been chosen because of their high quality teaching skills, their enthusiasm and their knowledge of the Amazon and Colombia. To ensure a cohesive and well balanced Spanish language curriculum all teachers complete The Amazon Spanish College teachers' training as well as participate in personal development training through out the employment to keep up with the latest teaching methodologies.
Alejandra Palacios, Academic Director & teacher
I am the Academic Director here at the Amazon Spanish College. My job is about planing our language courses and ensure quality in all our spanish programs. To do so I am constantly following the latest developments in ELE. I have two diplomas in ELE, Spanish for foreginers, from the university of Barcelona and from a Language institute Calamo & Cran in Madrid.
Sofia Pinzon, Academic Coordinator & teacher
Teaching Spanish at The Amazon Spanish College is a unique opportunity for me to not only teach Spanish to students from all over the world but learn from them as well. Not only do I teach the Spanish Grammar, Vocabulary, and the pronunciation, I have the chance to learn a lot about my students, their experiences, habits and I enjoy a special friendship with them. This is what makes my work very intense and extensive.
Nelly Kuiro, Activity Coordinator
I am really happy to be part of a team that is so committed to its work. My jobb is to coordinate the social and cultural activities. I love to welcome the students every Monday and celebrate with them on Fridays. It is a great way to acknowledge their achievements once they receive their certificates after they are finished their course.

Staff
The Amazon Spanish College has a very friendly staff. Our main goal is to help you improve your Spanish and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We will be pleased to help you organizing your leisure activities, book your flights and excursions, assisting you when needed and helping to find solutions to eventual problems. We want you to make the most out of your stay in Colombia!
Pedro Gonzalez, General manager
Hi, I'm Pedro and I'm the general manager. My work is to ensure that our services work and that all Amazon Spanish College staff are well. My job gives me the opportunity to learn about different cultures from the students that come here to visit us. I enjoy being able to help the students with any questions or concerns that they may have during their studies here. Lastly, Leticia is a beautiful city that I am sure you will love during your time here.
Paulo Silva, Marketing and sales
I work with marketing and sales for The Amazon Spanish College. My job is about staying in touch with agents worldwide and making public relations. I am always trying to spread the word about what a fun, diverse and interesting country Colombia is. I work from Stockholm in Sweden but travel frequently to Leticia. I am fascinated about the diversity of nature in Leticia and its surroundings. Do you know that there are more than 700 species of birds wthin 5 squarekilometers from Leticia?
Edwin Realpe, manager assistant
I am the director´s assitant here at The Amazon Spanish College. My job is very interesting with various tasks to be done. Before working here I had no idea that there were so many details that needed to be organized for your stay here in Leticia. I could not have found a more rewarding job then this! I enjoy welcoming the students every Monday and helping them find the right project if they are interested in voluntary work. If you would like to combine your stay here with volunteer work I will be the one to gladly place you in one of our many projects. Your talents are very welcome here in Leticia! Yolanda Lopez, housekeeping
Working as a housekeeper at The Amazon Spanish College comes with lot of responsibility. I work to maintain the presentation and the upkeep of the school. My work not only requires an able person but also someone with experience so that the results are satisfactory and to the liking of the volunteers and the students. It is my personal goal to make sure that your stay here at The Amazon Spanish College is comfortable and enjoyable.
